Thursday, March 3

4pm-8pm Opening hours of Oddsskarð ski area

8pm: Movie night at Valhöll, Eskifjordur. Watch footage from 2021’s Freeride Festival to get you in the mood for a big weekend ahead. More details announced soon.

 

Friday, March 4

1pm-8pm Opening hours of Oddsskarð ski area

6pm From summit to sea.

  • Meeting point: Outside the ski lodge at Oddsskarð. Route selection will be made according to weather and conditions.

6:30pm-10pmThe après-ski action begins! Join the party at Randulffs seahouse in Eskifjörður.

  • Live music from Andri Bergmann will ensure the mood is good.
  • Food is available from Randulffs kitchen during opening hours.
  • The host is Austurland’s own Valgeir Ægir
  • You can check out products from Fjallakofinn outdoor store and Wildness Brand (a local sustainable clothing brand), which will be displaying their wares.
  • Taste-test some craft beers from Beljandi Brewery from Breiðdalsvík, alongside harðfiskur (fish jerky).

 

Saturday, March 5

10am-4pm Opening hours of Oddsskarð ski area

At the ski lodge, You can check out products from Fjallakofinn outdoor store and Wildness Brand (a local sustainable clothing brand), which will be displaying their wares.

10am The summit: Hike up Goðaborg (1,132m) in Norðfjörður.

  • Meeting point: The bridge over Fannardalsá in Fannardalur, Norðfjörður.

10am For the past 2 years, mountaineer and mountain ski guide Jón Gauti has offered informative and fun courses for beginners and intermediate mountaineers, with emphasis on avalanche assessment and staying safe while mountain skiing in various conditions. This year the course will be a little more advanced, with a more hands-on approach. If you have attended the previous courses or have some knowledge or experience, now is the time to add to it. The plan is to make avalanche pits and study the snow layers, choose routes according to landscape and conditions, and have fun skinning and skiing some of the nicest lines in East Iceland. The aim of the course is that everyone should learn something new.

Note that people with minimum to intermediate knowledge of avalanche assessment and winter route-finding also qualify to attend.

2pm FM Belfast DJ set at Oddsskarð ski lodge. Tight beats for tight lines.

4pm-6pm More après-ski action at Randulffs seahouse with FM Belfast’s après-ski DJ set. Recharge after a day in the mountains while enjoying sweet tunes from FM Belfast‘s vinyl collection.

6pm-10pm Food is available from Randulffs kitchen during opening hours.

9pm-3am FM Belfast raise the roof at Valhöll with their DJ set. If you’ve seen them live, you know to expect the unexpected – and to be ready to dance!

10amThe two passes: Two mountain passes in the vicinity of Hallberutindur (1,118m).
