Hooked

April 12 - May 4
Gunnarsstofnun, in collaboration with HAKK Gallery, presents the group exhibition HOOKED, opening on Saturday, April 12. The show features 30 designers, artists, craftspeople, and architects — both Icelandic and international — exploring the concept of the coat hook through diverse materials, forms, and approaches.
Inspired by a similar exhibition at Gallerí Greip during the 1996 Reykjavík Arts Festival, several original participants return nearly 30 years later. The show invites reflection on how design responds to changing times, asking a simple yet layered question: What is a hook?
HAKK Gallery received support from the Icelandic Design Fund in fall 2024. Handverk og Hönnun / Craft and Design Iceland are key collaborators. The exhibition runs until May 4.
HAKK Gallery was founded by artist Gunnar Pétursson and designer Brynhildur Pálsdóttir as a cross-disciplinary platform for Icelandic design and craft. It hosts curated exhibitions focused on material, method, and meaning
