Mao Alheimsdóttir, born in Poland in 1983, is a Reykjavík-based writer and poet who has made Icelandic her literary language. Her novel manuscript Weather Reports and Funeralsreceived the Icelandic Literature Center’s Grassroots Grant in 2021. She is also the chair of Ós Pressan, an organization for writers and poets in Reykjavík, fostering a dynamic literary community.
