This is a fun 3-day tour under the guidance of Rúnar Pétur, where you will skin from the top lift of Oddsskarð down to Vöðlavík, stay there for 2 nights and end up skiing from the top lift of Oddsskarð to Randulffs-sjóhús in Eskifjörður
Tour schedule:
Wednesday March 1st
- 7:30am flight from Reykjavík
- Meeting at Mjóeyri at 9:30
- Luggage sorted. It is assumed that participants will have one bag each and a sleeping bag
- Leave at 10:00am from Oddsskarð and take the top lift up
- Begin to skin and slide east of Goðatindur towards Vöðlavík
- Ride down to Vöðlavík, where guests will arrive at the Touring Club of the East Fjord´s hut, Karlsstaðir.
- Short trip in Vöðlavík if people are keen
- Dinner
- Meeting to plan the next day and kvöldvaka (aprés-ski)
Thursday March 2nd
- Breakfast
- Skinning up to the peak and riding down
- Afternoon refreshment
- After skinning, riding down to the beach
- Bonfire and beer
- Dinner
- Hut quiz hosted by Víðir
- Sleep again in the Karlsstaðir hut in Vöðlavík
Friday March 3rd
- Breakfast
- Luggage picked up
- Skinning towards Eskifjörður
- Riding down to Eskifjörður
- Bus up to Oddsskarð
- Take the top lift up and ride down from the top to Randulffs-sjóhús
- Aprés-ski party at Randulffs-sjóhús
Price 95.000 ISK. Included are:
- Dinner on Wednesday. Breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner on Thursday. Breakfast and packed lunch on Friday.
- Accommodation for two nights in the Touring Club of the East Fjords´Karlsstaðir hut in Vöðlavík.
- Backcountry guiding for the entire trip. Rúnar Pétur Hjörleifsson is taking care of guiding
- Luggage transportation by snowmobile or jeep
- Bus transportation during the trip
NB must bring a sleeping bag, skis/snowboard, crampons, and avalanche gear (beacon, probe, and shovel).
