”Assuming places” - Linus Lohmann in Gallery Klaustur

September17 - 21

New exhibit in Galleri Klaustur

Linus Lohmann (b.1982, Germany) is a visual artist who works in drawing, printmaking and sculpture.

His works utilize various techniques to process images and objects. Throughout his practice, he explores the perception of materials, the legacy of objects and space by orchestrating re-manifestations of material and particles.

In his works, Linus explores the intersection between the hand and device, often employing hand-built tools or machines to produce outcomes that incorporate process, performance, and, in some instances, drawings resulting from specific movements or intricate processes.

Solo exhibitions include: “Pacing” in Reykjavík (2022) and “Something that was & isn’t” in Ísafjörður (2022). Other notable exhibitions include: “Á Seyðisfjörður”in Seyðisfjörður (2023), “Sammlung Simonow” in Berlin (2021), “Unoriginal” at Skaftfell Art Center in Seyðisfjörður (2016), “The Impossible Possession” at Slakthusateljéerna in Stockholm (2015), and “RÓ RÓ Skaftfell” at the Center for Visual Art in East Iceland (2014).

Everyone is welcome to the exhibit opening at 2pm on Saturday 24th August. The exhibit is open until September 21st and follows daily opening times at Skriðuklaustur.
