Welcome to our new local brewery located in East Iceland, Egilsstaðir. We offer a variety of local pizza but you can also make your own! What a deal! We now offer takeaways and you can eat directly at our place!

Affiliated to Austri Brugghús, we are a local bar located in Egilsstadir in Iceland. We serve Austri Brugghús' beers! We are a cozy and modern bar that offers a great selection of beer, beer flights, and brewery tours.

A bistro is in its original Parisian incarnation a small restaurant serving moderately priced simple meals in a modest setting. Bistros are defined mostly by the foods they serve. French homestyle cooking with robust earthy dishes and slow-cooked foods like cassoulet a bean stew are typical.

Fjóshornið is located at the Egilsstaðir farm, where the same family has engaged in farming for nearly 130 years. Skyr, yogurt and cheese is produced all year round, made out of cows' milk, but Fjóshornið café is only open in the summertime. You can also buy beef directly from the farm. At the café, you can sit down in a cozy environment, enjoy homemade pastries and drink good coffee.  Unfortunately, Fjóshornið café won't be open during the summer of 2022. Norð Austur sushi & bar is a part of Hótel Aldan , a family-run hotel in the peaceful and remote town of Seyðisfjörður only a few meters from the iconic Rainbowstreet and Blue Church. The resta urant is renowned for its delicious sushi and has been named the best sushi restaurant in the country. The restaurant, Norð Austur, is named after our beloved, unloving wind direction: North East. The restaurant uses only the freshest ingredients available at any given time, with the fish being caught locally by fishermen in the fjords. With respect for the raw materials and Japanese traditions, Norð Austur serves modern sushi alongside tasty beverages. The restaurant only operates during the summertime - which makes booking a table in advance recommended.

Skaftfell Bistró is located on the first floor of the Skaftfell Art Center, at Austurvegur 42, in Seyðisfjörður. The restaurant offers an innovative menu that reinterprets traditional Icelandic fare with an innovative twist. A section of the restaurant pays homage to the Swiss-German artist Dieter Roth, who lived and worked in Seyðsifjörður in the last decade of his life. In addition to original works by Roth, the restaurant also showcases the works of contemporary artists of East Iceland.  In keeping with principles of sustainability and respect for the natural environment, the Bistró's chefs work with locally-sourced fresh ingredients, celebrating the sea and land around us and supporting local farmers and fishermen, producers and procurers. 

Our chefs will be serving an ever-changing menu inspired by local ingredients at Berunes restaurant during the summer months. Supported by local craft ales and ambitious wine list we proudly welcome you to enjoy a true local fare. Róbert Ólafsson owner and chef at Forrettabarinn Restaurant in Reykjavík is born and raised in Berunes and after being thought his first kitchen tricks by his mother and grandmother, he has now over 30 years of international culinary experience behind him. Robert´s family at Berunes has welcomed travelers from around the world since 1974. With a spectacular mountain range on one side and a tranquil seafront on the other, Berunes truly offers a unique location in the East Fjords. Staying for 2 nights is highly recommended as there are plenty of activities. Guests can hike up Mt Steinketill above the farm and stroll along the coastline. The top-rated HI Hostel offers a unique choice of accommodation for about 50 guests; in rooms and cottages, along with a cozy and well-equipped camping site. Blábjörg Resort is located in the idyllic fishing village of Bakkagerði in Borgarfjörður eystri. Surrounded by beautiful mountains and unique nature, various hiking trails and outdoor activities can be found here both during the summer and winter seasons. Rising out of the village is the mystical Elf City, Álfaborg, where the elves watch over the town and its visitors. Hafnarhólmi, the puffin colony, is buzzing with birdlife from early April to the middle of August and is unique to experience.  At Blábjörg, we have a variety of options available for your stay. Blábjörg features a guesthouse with shared facilities, hotel rooms with private facilities, luxury apartments, a restaurant, and a spa. Frystiklefinn, our restaurant, puts great effort into our menu and includes fresh local ingredients in all our dishes. Musteri Spa offers a variety of treatments, both for your body and spirit. Our guesthouse offers 11 small, but cozy rooms with three shared bathrooms, together with the new hotel building with nine deluxe double rooms, all with private bathrooms, balconies, and picturesque views.  In addition, we offer four self-contained apartments - two studio apartments with an ocean view, a 2-bedroom apartment, and a 3-bedroom apartment.

Álfacafé is að friendly café in the village of Bakkagerði in Borgarfjörður Eystri. The visitor would do well to try the tasty waffles with whipped cream and fresh berries. The café is adorned with artifacts made from local rocks and other interesting pieces on display portraying local culture and art. Next door you´ll find the local fish factory which is worth a glance or two.

The restaurant ("Já sæll") is open during the summer. During other seasons the house is a community center.

The Móðir Jörð products originate from the organic farm of Vallanes, in East Iceland.  Móðir Jörð is recognised for organic Icelandic products made from ingredients which have been grown under natural conditions in the pure and unpolluted climate of Iceland. The restaurant is open from 11 - 19:00 every day during the high season, 20th of June to the 20th of August. Opening outside of the summer months is from 11 - 16:00 every day.

Bragdavellir - Cottages and a restaurant in Hamarsfjordur Bragdavellir Cottages At Bragdavelldir in Hamarsfjordur, east Iceland, we offer accommodation in 2-8 person cottages. The houses are equipped with all the essentials needed for a good rest and a nice stay. They all have a microwave, a refrigerator, and a stove. BBQ is also available for those who want. Bragdavellir is a short distance from a local town, Djupivogur, offering necessary service f.ex. bank, supermarket, health clinic and so on. Beautiful paths for walks are all around Bragdavellir, suited for both advanced hikers and beginners.  You might even run into our farm animals on your walks! (Ducks, chickens, horses, rabbits and sheep). In walking distance from the cottages is Bragdavellir Barn Restaurant for those who want to taste an of local ingredients. The restaurant is open during the summer months. Bragdavellir is a peaceful place, perfect for unwinding and breathing in clean, Icelandic air.  Bragdavellir Barn Restaurant At Bragdavellir in Hamarsfjordur, east Iceland, you can find a friendly family-owned restaurant. It is located in an old Barn and cowshed that has been renovated into a bistro restaurant offering a simple but good menu with an emphasis on local ingredients. Barn restaurant has a cozy atmosphere that makes you forget about everyday worries and gives you a chance to relax and unwind. Approx 20min walk from the restaurant is a beautiful waterfall named Snædalsfoss which is an easy hike to walk to. Along the way, you might run into our ducks, chickens, horses or even sheep. The restaurant is open during the summer months and you are welcome to call for further information. We also offer accommodation in 2-8 person cottages all year round. 

Nielsen is a newly renovated restaurant in the heart of Egilsstaðir, East Iceland. The house, which is the oldest house in town, was built in 1944 by a danish man named Oswald Nielsen hence the name of the restaurant. The owners of Nielsen restaurant are Sólveig and Kári. Sólveig was born and raised in Egilsstaðir. Kári is a renowned chef in Iceland who before moving to Egilsstaðir worked as a head chef at Dill restaurant in Reykjavík, the only restaurant in Iceland ever to receive a Michelin star (so far). At Nielsen you can either sit inside or when the weather permits on the beautiful tree surrounded patio. The main focus of the constantly evolving hearty menu at Nielsen will be local and seasonal ingredients taken at the peak of their flavours, preserved or used fresh depending on availability. Kári and Sólveig are both very passionate about cooking and cuisine and are most happy when sharing a good meal and drink with family and friends. At Nielsen restaurant they will try and share this passion with all of their guests.

Hérað | Berjaya Iceland Hotels is located in the town of Egilsstadir - the heart of east Iceland. On our premises you will find a variety of nature walks and other forms of outdoor recreation. The Fjalladýrð team is conscious about the environment and we try to meet all the environmental challenges running a tourist service constitutes. We offer personal service, with the goal of allowing our customers to get closer to their origins. We work to achieve this by offering homemade food, traditional Icelandic rural culture and further recreation options tailored to the interests of each group or person. Fjalladýrð offers accommodation for up to 70 people in rooms with dressed beds and private or shared facilities. A well serviced camping ground is also at hand. The restaurant/café Fjallakaffi - "The Mountain Café" awaits you with homemade delicacies like "kleinur" and "Ástarpungar" - Icelandic doughnuts treats, not to mention the renowned Icelandic lamb meat soup, Icelandic moss-soup, local trout, and a local lamb steak. All this and more to be found on our menu. Möðrudalur is the highest settled farm in Iceland, 469 meters ( 1548 feet) above sea-level. It has been inhabited since early settlement in Iceland. Möðrudalur has served as a presbytery for centuries. The builder of the church in Möðrudalur was Jón A. Stefánsson (1880 - 1971). He was a great farmer as well as an artist and the altarpiece is made by himself. His son was Stefán ,,Stórval" Jónsson (1908 - 1994), a one of a kind character and a painter. The panorama view from the farm is interesting in many ways - judge for yourself. Möðrudalur/Fjalladýrð is a home base of the company Volcano Heli that offers different kind of sightseeing tours: www.volcanoheli.is  Our campsite is open from June to mid-September. For campers, and RVs we offer stays throughout the year depending on weather. Last but not least we sell Icelandic woolens and handicrafts made by local people as well as some snacks.

The service is personal, cooking ingredients are fresh, local, and always of the very best quality for each season. Like the hotel itself, its cuisine is rooted in solid tradition. Still, the ingredients are now introduced with subtle changes and serve its meals with a new perspective, resulting in memorable culinary experiences. We value the quality of ingredients, and most of it is Icelandic, organic, and grown locally. Gistihúsið - Lake Hotel Egilsstadir has cross-country skis for rent during the winter. Multiple cross-country tracks are located in close proximity to the hotel. Ask in the reception which tracks are available during your stay.

Hótel Aldan of Seyðisfjörður consists of three old but extensively renovated houses two of which are located by the little pond in the heart of this quaint old town in the Norwegian Schweitzer-style. Each house encompasses 9 rooms and a dining room as well.  Aldan restaurant has also been renovated and is now focusing even more on local Icelandic ingredients, mostly from the Eastern fjords. The third one, dating from the late 19th. century was used as banking premises for decades but has been renovated all while respecting traditional values. The house has 7 double rooms and 2 triple rooms. Most rooms have space for an additional bed and one room can accommodate a group of six. Flexible design makes it possible to combine some of the rooms to form a "suite" or family rooms for 4 to 6 persons. Next summer we will have 22 hotel rooms and two apartments that can accommodate up to 6 persons each. The apartments are situated in a building that housed the first school in town only a minutes’ walk from the main hotel building.

We offer accommodation in the heart of our Móðir Jörð organic farm in Vallanes.  Flat or cottage accommodate 2-4 people with a double bed, kitchenette and private bathrooms with a shower.  The private and calm atmosphere in a beautiful environment. We offer local breakfast from the farm in a newly built café the Aspen House made entirely with wood from the farm.  Shop and restaurant with vegetarian cuisine, lunch and other meals are open from 9-18 daily in the summertime.

Vök Bistro, located at Vök Baths serves a tasty array of small courses, soups and salads, accompanied by a variety of freshly baked bread. We partner with local suppliers to ensure a consistent and high-quality source of meat, fish, cheeses, bread, local grown fresh wasabi, herbs and many more. We always want to include a taste of Iceland in our menu with an Asian and European twist. At our Tea bar, we make the most of the naturally warm and certified drinkable water of Lake Urriðavatn to offer our visitors a unique selection of organic and locally sourced herbal teas. All of our tisanes are steeped in hot water from Lake Urriðavatn which runs out of the tap at 75 degrees celsius. Our tea is locally sourced and you’re likely to taste something entirely new! Additionally, we offer cool and refreshing tisanes made using the hot spring water from the lake and are then allowed to cool. A tisane is included in the admission fee.

Búðin in Borgarfjörður eystri is a small and friendly village shop owned by the local people of Borgarfjörður. The policy is to have a good selection of necessities for locals as well as tourists who make their way to this beautiful village in East Iceland. As well as being a shop, it also hosts a tourist information center where tourists can gather information on places of interest, hiking trails and other useful information for their trip.

With its new wing of guest rooms and panoramic sea and mountain views, Hotel Framtid in Djupavogir offers a comfortable stay in beautiful natural surroundings. Our new wing has 18 well-designed 17 m2 rooms with shower and WC, telephone and TV. A nice hotel in the heart of Egilsstaðir, opposite to the East Iceland Heritage Museum, the sports ground and the local park. All 39 rooms have private bathrooms, Tv's and free internet access. Laugarfell is located in the eastern part of the Icelandic Highlands, a bit north from Mount Snæfell. There are only two km.from the road that leads to Kárahnjúkar to Laugarfell and it is the only part of the road that is not paved. In the summer there is good access to Laugarfell in all kinds of vehicles. Laugarfell offers accommodation for 28 people. Two natural pools are located in Laugarfell and according to old folk tales the water is known for its healing powers. There are many interesting tracking paths around Laugarfell and a number of beautiful waterfalls. Additionally, one can expect to see reindeer wandering around the area of Laugarfell. Laugarfell is open from the 1st of June to 30 of September.We open by agreement during the winter time.
